• Drawings
are the transformation of ideas, inventions, know-how into a
medium (paper or computer file), e.g. patents, drawings of a
machines. Design & drawings are intellectual property and
protected by international copyright laws. The goal of every
company is to manufacture and distribute products which are
unique and have competition on the market.
• The
standard of design within a company manifests the ability
to technical progress & invention and helps to be competitive
in the local and international environment. Intellectual property
is the foundation to more development of advanced technologies.
• Design
secures independence: E.g. a manufacturing company employs
dedicated engineers, which develop and improve production
lines and machines. But nobody is documenting these improvements
on drawings. When these engineers leave the company, the know-how
is lost. When drawings exist, other engineers can follow up
the improvements, learn from it and develop new ideas and
machines: "The Transformation within the progress of technique".
• If
a factory or a production line gets destroyed, machines and
production equipment can be manufactured and installed in
a short period of time. Drawings secure the further existence
of a company and make it independant.
• In
a complex production process drawings are needed to improve
the organization of the production for more efficiency and
higher output.
• Drawings
enable tailor made solutions for production & successful
implementation of production lines without delay.
For 95%
of projects without proper design, re-work has to be done.
Rework is time consuming, worsens the quality of equipment
& product drastically and is expensive. Additional labour
and material has to be spent. In the worst case scenario,
the initial design has to be scrapped (design mistake discovered).
